デュアルアクティブ（構成部品）

構成部品の対のことで，通常両方が機能しているときにタスクまたはタスクのクラスを共有する耐障害性が高いストレージシステムにおけるコントローラの対，のようなものを指す． 構成部品の一方が故障すると，もう一方はタスク全体を担う．デュアルアクティブなコントローラは，同じストレージデバイス群に接続されており，単一コントローラと比較して，I/O性能，耐故障性ともに改善されている．デュアルアクティブな構成部品は，アクティブ―アクティブな構成部品とも呼ばれる．

A pair of components, such as the controllers in a failure tolerant storage subsystem that share a task or class of tasks when both are functioning normally. When one of the components fails, the other takes on the entire task. Dual active controllers are connected to the same set of storage devices, improve both I/O performance and failure tolerance compared to a single controller. Dual active components are also called active-active components.
