2．システム内のデータなどのオブジェクトをシステム外の場所に移動すること．通常，その移動中には変換を必要とする．ディスクアレイコントロールソフトウェアは，仮想ディスクをホスト環境にエクスポートする．ファイルシステムでは，ディレクトリがエクスポートされ，リモートのクライアントからのアクセスに利用可能になる場合がある．
